Rocks that contain silicon, are used for many centuries by people as a building material. Pure silicon, which could be extracted from over a hundred years for the first time in recent decades due to its application possibilities in the microelectronics and the construction of solar cells gained enormous importance. The increased demand from the industry on the one hand and the limited production capacities of the silicon manufacturers on the other hand, the price for silicon has increased significantly especially in the years 2003 to 2006. And now much to be said for a long-term rising prices for this important commodity.
